Independence Day 2025

Family Fun, Outdoor Grilling, Water Adventures and more Stokes County has a flavorful weekend to kick off the month of July in a Stokes County State of Mind. Kicking off the 2025 Independence Day celebrations on Thursday, July 3rd, enjoy food trucks, live music and fun for the family from 7-10pm at Walnut Cove Lions Park. Live entertainment is provided this year by The Phase Band from the stage with an amazing fireworks display to follow. This display is visible throughout Walnut Cove from various business parking lots and Downtown.

The City of King continues the FUN 4th Holiday with a large firework display visible as far as the eye can see around the city on Friday, July 4th. Fireworks are launched from Recreation Acres at dusk approximately between 9:15-9:30pm. Limited parking is available at the upper parking lot of King Recreation Acres (White Road entrance), King Public Library, Central Park Amphitheater, and other areas throughout the city. Bring the young ones to Everyone’s Playground loaded with accessible equipment. Toss a disc with your partner on the new Disc Golf Course or enjoy a few rounds of Pickle Ball from the new courts at Recreation Acres.

Conclude the weekend in the Northern area of Stokes County where amazing distant views of the Sauratown Mountains are enjoyed along Highway 704 in Sandy Ridge. The Northeast Stokes Volunteer Fire Department presents its first ever Fireworks Display and Independence Day Celebration as part of its Summer Bash welcoming the community for a day of fun events, water games and activities, vendors, food trucks, and Main Stage Entertainment featuring Josh Hudson, Jon Montgomery and Taylor Vaden with his Classic Country Review. The fun continues all month long as Moratock Park serves as a hot spot for outdoor recreation and water activities.
