Jeremy Tellier 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★My 3 kids and I hiked this we enjoyed it. Great opportunities for photos. We hiked on a foggy day so we could not see much but it was still a blast. Definitely check out balance rock it is only 30 ft off the tower trail.

Kelly Gaylord 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★I cannot believe more people aren’t talking about this trail! Avoid the crowds of hanging rock and enjoy even better 360° views!! To be clear, it is a moderate trail with lots of stone steps to the top. Although when I was there it was a bit smoky from Canadian fires, typically you can see all the way to the blue ridge parkway. I LOVE this trail ❤️ I went in May and there were so many rhododendrons and mountain laurels in bloom along the trail. So beautiful! I did the Moore’s Wall loop, which was 5 moderate miles that included ascending Moore’s Knob and the tower. However, another option is to just do the trail up to the observation tower and back (a total of 4 miles).

Groot 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★Completed the 5 peak challenge last week, thee views are absolutely amazing, 11.1 miles of trails to see all 5 peaks. Exhausting, but worth every step of it. If you have not been to explore all hanging rock has to offer, go when you have the chance, there are multiple waterfalls in the park as well.

Kanzan Cherry 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★I'm over 300 pounds and somewhat out of shape, though I have been on many 1-3 mile walks. I was able to go counterclockwise and climb the INFINITE STAIRS to the observation tower and make it back to the lake parking lot. I struggled quite a bit, taking very frequent breaks, but I did it. Everyone I saw on the way up and back was pretty fit. If you go here, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE STAIRS. They feel like they go on for eternity. The view from the tower is worth the effort but this is by no means an easy hike. Take lots of water and a couple of snacks like jerky. I say this because the last mile of the return was awful for me due to electrolyte depletion and mild dehydration. I ate chicken strips after leaving and felt better within minutes. Don't make my mistakes. Take the 2 miles seriously and remember that going back down is quite high impact as well. If you prepare properly and go in knowing that this is the ultimate stair exercise, you'll enjoy the view like I did.
