Tobie Sparks- Mayfield 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★Priddy’s General Store felt like stepping back in time. The building was packed with vintage displays, old soda bottles, boots, hats, hardware, gifts, homemade treats, and all kinds of unexpected things to look through. It had that slightly cluttered, old-fashioned general-store charm that made me want to wander around and examine everything. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I picked up an adorable “Bee Joyful” keychain and a Peanut Butter Delight made by The Bread Lady. I would love to come back during one of their live music events because the setup looked so fun and homey. It is a great place to buy Christmas gifts.

Jessica Hood 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★This is a great historic and cute general country store, built back around 1888. We went there for the first time today. It's very charming and gives that feeling of nostalgia. The shop owner, Jane, is so friendly and welcoming! We had a great conversation with her that really added to the joy of the experience. There's a nice variety of pantry and cold groceries, many of which are from local producers. There's also a lot of collectibles, rustic decor and household items. I especially enjoyed the German chocolate cake, made by "The Bread Lady" in King, NC (with organic unbleached flour). 😁 We are looking forward to going back for another visit when they have live bluegrass music. We highly recommend checking out Priddy's General Store!

Mike Goodman 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★If you want a bit of "Old Timey" then visit Jane at Priddy's. It opened up in 1888, has been in the same family since 1931. My land is not far away so I go in regularly. ... Penny Candy, well worn floorboards. Try the spicy Blenheim's Ginger Ale. Music in the fall, some sort of community fundraiser that I attended sometime back. ... Took my brother from out of town and he got a real good taste of country living.

Bruce InCharlotte 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★Passing through some of rural North Carolina, I would have driven right past Priddy's because it really does not look like much from the outside. The building dates back to the 1920s according to county records and it has been a fixture in Danbury for generations, sitting just a short distance from the entrance to Hanging Rock State Park. Once you step inside though, it turns into the kind of true country store that is getting harder to find. Shelves are packed with old fashioned candies, local preserves and james, small household items and even a bit of clothing. It feels lived in and authentic, the way a general store should. A friendly lady rang up my purchase, a fridge magnet and some pimento cheese that ended up being breakfast and snacks for the rest of the day. Priddy's is also known locally for its weekend music gatherings and community events, something that you can see mentioned in tourism guides and Stokes County historical notes. I am super pleased that I stopped in because it is one of those places that rewards curiosity and looking past the cover. It's the kind of roadside store that looks ordinary until you give it that chance and realize that it has been a part of the community for a century for a reason.
